My Morning and Night Routines in Detail

As I have talked about so many times, a solid morning and night routine can really change your mood, productivity, and daily life. Many of you have asked for a detailed breakdown of what these routines look like so I wanted to share a little about what I do and some possible routines you could incorporate into your day. Something I want to emphasize is that incorporating these things into your routine should not cause you stress. It is important to make little changes one at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed or stressed about it.

Morning Routine:

7:00AM: Wake up

7:10AM: Head downstairs to feed my dogs breakfast and let them outside to play and go to the bathroom

7:15: Make a cup of decaf coffee or tea (I have been cutting caffeine out because of it heightens my anxiety)

7:30: Turn on some house lamps, light a candle, straighten up the couch pillows, pick up dog toys or any other clutter floating around our main living area

8:15AM: Make breakfast (I like to start the day with a smoothie, toast, or overnight oats/chia)

8:30AM: Eat breakfast, enjoy my morning coffee/tea, and complete my quiet time (sometimes that's a journal entry and others its just reading a little passage from my devotional and meditating on it)

9:00AM: Start my day

Nighttime Routine:

5:00PM: I like to workout in the evening after I have finished my day (either a Pilates class or hot yoga are my favorites)

6:30PM: Do some tasks around the house while Taylor cooks our dinner

7:30PM: Eat dinner together

8:30PM: Clean up the kitchen (something about washing the dishes is therapeutic to me)

8:45PM: Shower and get ready for bed (I use this time to do my nighttime skincare routine as well)

9:15PM: Make some tea or warm water with lemon

9:20/9:30PM: Watch an episode of a show we are watching or read a chapter of the book I am reading

10:00/10:30PM: Bedtime

Everyone’s lives are different so I know following my exact routine may not be realistic for everyone but I hope you can use this to guide you and assist you in finding the best morning and night routine for your lifestyle!
